Pakelpada 'Baba dera Cave' is natural beauty destination in Jharsuguda
Our country India has developed many natural places and turned them into tourist destinations. These tourist spots attract many tourists from the county and abroad. Tourist destinations have played a key role in making the country prosperous by creating foreign revenue. It reflects the nature and beauty of the country. Jharsuguda district in western Odisha is prosperous in mineral resources, and many factories have been established here and familiar as an industrial city. Odisha is acquiring the foremost revenue from Jharsuguda district than any other district. However, many tourist attractions and natural attractions in Jharsuguda district have been disregarded.
Some of the mountain ranges in Jharsuguda have legendary sites, ancient 'Baba Dera Cave' located in Bhaibahen village of Pakel Pada under Laikera block of Jharsuguda district is one of them. Easy walking distance to the east of Pakelpada village, two hills spot on the road. On the left is Bhaibahen Hill and on the right is Budhikuten Hill. The vast forests encircling both hills enhance the outstanding natural beauty of the mountains. Many wildlife perceived in the forest. A legend heard about 'Baba Dera Cave' situated in Bhai bahen hill. Baba practiced mediation at the baba dera Cave in the past. The villagers have named the cave "Baba Dera Cave" because Baba resided in the Baba Cave.
the villagers walked to Baba Dera Cave and engaged in a hymn with Baba, which led to close association with the cave. One day, Baba dreamed of stashed 'Lakshmi Bhandar' in the bhai bahen hill. In order to obtain that Lakshmi treasure, Baba retraced the hills and entered an undisclosed cave. The bear was resting in the cave attacked Baba. while escaping from the cave, baba foot staggered, his head collided with a stone, and got bloodied. Eventually, the baba reached the village in a bloody state and died. After Baba's death, the villages reduced to approach towards the cave.
In the morning, Baba used to beg in the adjoining village and playing the khanjani and singing hymns in evening, then sleep in the cave. the saints sometimes held spiritual ceremonies in the cave which were attended by villagers and saints, and the entire forest was pulsated by the sound of the kittan mandali, Sankirtana mandali and Baba Khajani. On the left side of the cave is a huge stone like a dome, which the villagers have named ‘Pitabahalia’. According to people belief, worshiping this dome stone fulfills the desires. Villagers are still worshiping here and fulfilling their desire and aspirations. Arrangement of Steps, good road, restroom, electricity, water, etc. necessary here. Besides, if the proper planning of this natural site is implemented and developed, this ‘Baba dera Cave’ and ‘Pitabahlia Stone’ can surely be considered an attractive tourist destination.
